“Unprotected” – Documentary: April 11th

How did our culture become so toxic toward women? #Metoo. Sexting pressure. Hook-up culture. Teenage depression. This is the fallout from the sexual chaos we find ourselves in today.

One man foresaw this all so clearly 50 years ago. Humanae Vitae is an encyclical written by Pope Paul VI in 1968. It re-affirmed the orthodox teaching of the Catholic Church regarding married love, responsible parenthood, and the rejection of artificial contraception. It accurately predicted many of the perils we face today resulting from sexual immorality which has become mainstream in the aftermath of the sexual revolution.

“Unprotected – The Pope, the Pill and Perils of Sexual Chaos” is a powerful new documentary about Humanae Vitae. It reveals the devastating effects of 50 years of the sexual revolution, and the counter-cultural movement today that is rising from its ashes.

Holy Family Parish will be screening the documentary and encourages Catholics from across the city to come to participate in the viewing and discussion that follows. This video is particularly well suited to youths in high school and beyond, their parents, educators, and anyone interested in learning more about Catholic teaching on many sexual issues. The viewing will be followed by dialogue and questions with Diocesan Theologian Brett Salkeld.
